SPECIAL GUEST: Q & A

Leslie Franklin

Figure Pro / World Champion Powerlifter / Coach

I began competing in bodybuilding competitions as a figure competitor in 2007. Since then I have competed in 15 shows, taking 1st place five times, 2nd place finishes four times, and eight top 5 placings. My placing’s in my Figure Pro Shows are 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 4th and 5th. What can I say… after my first competition I was hooked. I loved seeing the changes in my body, constantly trying to improve my physique, and stepping on stage showing the world how hard I’ve worked. I also LOVE the sport of Powerlifting. This sport is like nothing else. The physical and mental strength one has to have is incredible and has made me a better all-around athlete. I don’t only want to LOOK strong, but I want to BE strong for life. I’ve now competed in 10 powerlifting meets, each time bettering myself and beating my last meet records. I’ve won the “Best Female Lifter” award multiple times and have set multiple State, National, and World records in my weight & age classes. My last powerlifting competition was in November 2016 where I won the IPL World Championships and set World Records in Squat (375 lbs) and Total (893 lbs) in the 123 lb class. Just recently I started competing in Crossfit competitions...I thought powerlifting was hard... crossfit is a whole other level of hard, and I LOVE it too! Like I said, I'm always trying new things to compete in challenge myself.

My motto for my life is “Seize Every Day!” As I look at my life I ask myself, have I lived to my fullest potential, made positive impressions on the people around me, loved with all my heart and been loved in the same way, pushed myself to the limit, challenged myself to step out of my comfort zone and do things I never thought I would do? I want to look back at my life and think WOW I had an amazing one. So…I'm going seize every day! I’m going to live life to my fullest. God gifted us this one short life, there's no time for negativity or dreaming about what could have been. I'm going to challenge myself every day. I'm NOT going to look back on my life and wish I would have done more, lived better, or regret what I didn't do. I'm going to live to my life to fullest potential.
